This Week's Curated Inbox: Noah Kahan, My August Routine, And Blueberry Cookie Recipe

Los Tacos No 1 Grand Central

Had Los Tacos No. 1 before therapy this week and it was beautiful.

You get to celebrate making it to Friday. I am a fan of setting goals, meeting them, and playing big, but I’m also conscious that you won’t ever truly enjoy your big moments unless you practice embracing joy with small moments. I know we live in a culture that thinks we hand out prizes for simply breathing, but that’s a jaded perspective, I think. You don’t win the Super Bowl by only winning the first game in the season, but enjoying that win is the only way you’ll even make it to the SuperBowl.

Here’s my first game of the season wins. This week I wrote on the blog every day (small win), I published on Medium every day (small win), and I shared daily on TikTok and Instagram (small wins). I try to notice these kinds of wins because I react well to positive reinforcement, it makes me more likely to keep momentum going. If you react well to positive reinforcement too, don’t feel cheesy for celebrating those wins.

In addition to a lot of output this week, here’s what made my curated inbox list for the week.

“Stick Season” by Noah Kahan

There is a very good chance you’ve heard this song on TikTok, even if you don’t know you have. I’ve been fascinated with how TikTok has helped the song gain a life (and cult following) of its own. It actually inspired me so much that I wrote a reflection on Medium about it.

My August Wellness Routine

Your self-care routines shouldn’t always be reinvention routines, most times they are better (and easier to stick with) if they are built on healthy routines you already have in your life. I wrote a blog post about some of my routines for the month.

The Anatomy of Grief

I didn’t expect this reel to perform as well as it did, but it seems like a lot of people are trying to understand grief a bit better. My top grief book rec is The Anatomy of Grief. It’s a great read once you’re out of the beginning stages of grief and it’s also a great read for those who are hoping to understand what a grieving loved one may be going through.

Blueberry Cookie Recipe

I have never tried this recipe, but it apparently went viral a year ago and has had a resurgence. I plan to try it this weekend, maybe you can too! :)
